Correction, it's been a small and illiquid market for many years and THAT has made it prime stomping grounds for manipulation and games. As interest and liquidity come back, those nickel and dimers become irrelavent.

If there was a trusted manager that tracked that stuff it would be nice... there may be. But what for, just buy freakin gold! You've got .com potential in gold as investors flee paper crap. Some other commodities are more easily kept down with added supply.
