The assumptions about organizational strength through union activism turned out be completely wrong.

I posted earlier that I thought this showed a decline in Union's ability to persuade voters. The Union split may have also knocked each other out. This business of someone coming to your door and getting you to vote for "Joe Blow" because the two of you are fellow Union members may be overblown, also.
