Apollo - You missed my point entirely. Average speed is what counts, not max speed. And the difference between WCDMA avg and EV-DO avg is a significantly less than the difference between max speeds.

Apollo - First, apologies for my first, terse, response. But to give a further example, there are lots of technologies boasting of >10Mbps max rate in some small amount of bandwidth. It means nothing since while true it only applies to those in, say, 1/1000th of the area covered by the service (i.e. those within a few hundred feet of the basestation). To compare capabilities you really need to compare average speeds and that is somewhat messy.
