Maybe the volunteer/charity model is catching on.

WASHINGTON - The Salvation Army is receiving a donation likely to exceed $1.5 billion from the estate of Joan B. Kroc, the late widow of the founder of McDonald's Corp., the charity announced Tuesday.

If true this is great news as the Salvation Army has lost donations for the homeless because they are accused of being a "religious" organization. Ann Arbor, Michigan, that bastion of liberalism, threatened the United Way with removal from the city's charity check off list if the UW continued to support the Boy Scouts and they, then, also canceled a yearly $25,000 donatiion to the Salvation Army, claiming the Army made the homeless they helped pray for their help. The liberalism of the University of Michigan has a great influence on the area.
