Why do you think the Dems aren't mentioning the increased spending, except in terms of Iraq (which itself is only a fraction of the increase)?

Have you heard of the expression " give the man rope " ?

Al

Ten,

re: Most of the increased spending went to programs Democrats have been demanding for years.

I don't think that's true. I think a lot of it went to pork, and my guess is the pork was located in Rep states. Regardless, I'm offended by the spending, not the party.

Well, yes, everything is a fraction of the total spending increase, isn't it? But don't pretend Iraq is insignificant, it's huge. I hear the dems talking about other spending issues. Are you listening?

John

You have got to be kidding! The GOP controls both the House and the Senate and you're blaming the budget deficits on the Dems. Now I've heard it all!

Sorry, Tenchusatsu, but you've gone over to the dark side!
