Yes, I agree with you on Sen. McCain. another decorated war hero who has served this country very well. He would have a lot of votes if he had been the candidate in 2000,, irrespective of party affiliation.

We can all sincerely hope that he overcomes his battle with skin cancer, which I believe he could have got from his Vietnam days and agent Orange. Again, I may be wrong.

rruff, it will be interesting to see what President Bush says during the State of the Union speech tonight. I would be curious to know if he would come across more like the President of Iraq than that of the US. When he starts to talk about how many schools have opened in Iraq, how children are going to school, how the Iraqis are going back to work etc. he sounds more like he wants to rebuild Iraq. We in the US are left asking: what about us? How many jobs have been created, what about No Child Left Behind etc.

His last State of the Union had all sorts of reference to the illegal activities that Iraq was involved in such as trying to but uranium in Africa, WMD in Iraq etc. I would be curious to know what he has to say on what he had said a year later.
