My best lab ever, Yeller of all things just didn't give one hoot about upland birds. That guy was something else on ducks though. I could tell stories for hours about him as can everyone that ever hunted with him. One favorite was him diving after a duck that dove and not coming up for I'll bet 30 seconds. I was convinced he was dead. Or a favorite puppy story, he was about 7 months old and we are walking across the bridge above the dam. We had been on the other side working with him on water retrieve's with a stick. All I could afford at that time. Anyhow we are walking back across the bridge about 25' above the water and I tossed the stick over the edge not thinking and assuming I would just find another one tomorrow when we trained. Yeller flashed across in front of me and hit the railing of the bridge and just blasted out into space. I damn near had a heart attack. He did get the stick though:) I'll stop now as I could go on forever.

That is also part of the problem with me having no more dogs I suppose in that there will never be another Yeller. I have had all my dog's cremated and have the ash's. Kristy and I each get half of each in our caskets with us.

Wierd I suppose.
