An exercise in deceit and deception. Did you hear him lump the child tax credit (due to expire in one year) and the income tax cuts (due to expire in 10 years) in the same sentence without mentioning the expiration times. He implied that if Congress doesn't make all the tax cuts permanent the middle class will lose the child tax credit. Krugman had it right - confuse the middle and appeal to the base.
