Upon their deaths, Newt Gingrich and a Catholic priest meet St. Peter for their housing assignments. First, St. Peter takes Newt to his place. It is a gorgeous mansion in the best part of Heaven, with a swimming pool and all the comforts anyone could ask for. Newt thanks him, and the priest is very impressed, and very encouraged about what is in store for him. When St. Peter takes the priest to his residence, however, the priest is gravely (no pun intended) disappointed. It is a very basic dwelling, with a single bedroom. The priest asks St. Peter in a very confused way, "Why do I, a devout priest, get such a humble place, when Newt got such a mansion?" St. Peter replied: "We get priests like you all of the time. But this is the first time we have ever had a GOP congressional leader."
