Scooter,

< There was a largely unpublicized rebellion in Buon Me Thuat in 2001, where the minority tribes took over the city for a few days before being crushed and driven into Cambodia.>

I have a clearer picture of where the well's going to go...thanks. For a country with so many tribes, religions and regional differences, the government in the North has always been hugely intolerant. South Vietnam as a government dictatorship and totally corrupt,(they learned it from the French), let the differences co-exist as long as it didn't get in the way. I guess you gotta pick your evils...that was President Kennedy and Johnson's decision to make. Rewinding the clock even further, what would have happened if the US backed Uncle Ho when he came to us for help against the Chinese and later the French.

We have had a history of taking out bad guys outright or selectively, Hitler, Mousselini outright, Noriega, Allende, Pinochet, Hussein, selectively (supported them for a while and then took them out)...just to name a few.

Anyway....you and Yen are getting water to people who need it...at it's most basic level of the spirit, that's the real deal.
