Your citations are not without merit, James and I see somewhat, how they hold you to your views. You wish to close the case on eschatology on the strength of imminency verses. All other pertinent passages must be rendered figurative -- an arbitrary treatment (read: imminency is literal; all others are figurative because imminency is literal) which is questionable.

Your method of exegesis differs fundamentally from mine.

One of the rules I follow is that a doctrine should not raise more questions than it settles. Another one is that a (non-salvific) doctrine should not disturb basic ones.

Preterism violates both of these rules for me.

Your method has not shown a compelling weight of evidence from both internal (within the texts) and external (manifested reality) to overturn my futurist point-of-view.
