No matter what they do, they will be perceived as being on the wrong side of it. So Rove is "ash-canning" it. Smart move. I'd prefer they stop pretending that they care because that's the honest thing to do rather than a good political strategy, but I nonetheless approve of the silence. The hypocrisy of the occasional pretense is nauseating.
