BTW, you never posted here about your brother's experiences in Iraq. I hope he is doing well.

Thanks for asking. He is OK.
Spent his three weeks convalescent leave here over the holidays. Most of his wounds are healing well. The knee is the problem and will need a coupla more months of therapy according to the Docs.
He is back at Ft Hood on light duty. Presently training FNGs for combat duty.
As you know he got his Purple Heart from GWB at Walter Reed. He was also just awarded a Bronze Star for heroism.

Contrary to press reports he read, he says morale in the 4th ID is excellent. He also said 99.9% of Iraqis are very happy we are there. They are cooperative and helpful. He said schools are open, new businesses and shops are opening everyday, playgrounds are open and have equipment for the kids, hospitals are equipped, lights and water are OK.

He liked working night OPS with SF teams. Had lots of stories to tell about that. He was thrilled that his unit bagged saddam a week after he got hit.

He expects to go back and will go willingly. He believes he still can make a big contribution.

I told him lots of folks neither of us ever met were rooting and praying for him. He said to say thanks.
