Mrs. Kroch was a true visionary...She was an entrepreneurial philanthropist (like Bill Gates)...It is great to see folks that are having a big impact as they are acting as good stewards of their wealth...One of Mrs. Kroch's most impressive gifts was the largest gift ever given to NPR -- it came late last year and was for several hundred million dollars (as much as their entire endowment).

Under the Bush Administration many critical social programs have been cut back...We have spent way too much on wartime activities and most states are now making painful cutbacks that will affect millions of Americans...It's up to more folks like Mrs. Kroch to step forward and share their wealth.
