Ted, Al, David, TigerPaw, and all, before I try to defend the indefensible, let me say this: I don't believe there was indeed anything that Clinton or Bush could have reasonably done to capture Osama or otherwise prevent 9/11. Both sides of the fence are making accusations at each other based on hindsight, but the truth is that America in general was caught with her guard down.

My original post to Al was meant to be a turnaround of his own words, including his failure (unintentional?) to capitalize the name "george." Apparently no one caught on, and I even tried to say later on that "Clinton was just as 'responsible' (notice the quotes) for 9/11 as Bush was." In other words, I'm saying they weren't, but as John Fowler mentioned, the thinking on this thread tends to be pretty linear.
