KJC, Parmalat was plain self-service. Eleven years ago I did some work for CVRD -the Brazilian metal company. It was still a state-owned enterprises The employees were hell bent in an action against the company. I saw them shooting their own feet.

I told them, (I tried in a very political way) don't this action, at this point in time, be detrimental to yourself, since the company, may decide to privatize and there will be changes that will affect you -personally- in a negative way?

They told me bluntly, this thing is going to be privatized anyway and there will be severe cuts, so we have to try to get something before they come after us!

I believe there are many people in companies -such as Parmalat- acting like the guys in CVRD at that time.

My fear is that there are some other out there as the baby-bommers near retirement.
