Unless you believe that President Carter gave Saddam a "green light" to invade Iran, the blame for the deaths caused by the Iran Iraq war rests with Saddam. Yes, the deaths due to sanctions could have been lifted anytime Iraq and Saddam decided to submit to the requirements made by the UN (and the US cease fire agreement), unless you are blaming the deaths due to Sanctions on Presidents Bush(41) and Clinton.

Unless you can provide any documentation that the numbers of people (I provided) killed by Saddam's regime is exagerated, then do so.

Even Sean Penn recognizes that Saddam was a butcher.

re: "BTW, the sanctions that were killing people could have been lifted at anytime. The Iran dead were the result of a war we supported Saddam in. The Shiite and Kurd deaths, I think, you post are grossly exaggerated, not justified, just exaggerated. But I do believe, we were seeking answers for the Bush lies....."
