jfred, trees might not grow to the sky but people can zoom right on through it. There is no limit to imagination, intelligence, creativity and the synergistic power of 6 billion people enjoying the Flynn Effect, freedom from agrarian penury and increasing artificial intelligence [Google and friends in cyberspace]. That's without the turbocharging effect of genetic engineering which seems to be out of the realm of science fiction and into the production process for non-human biology. Human biology won't be far behind.

Okay, maybe there's a limit to what can be done, but the limit is likely to be a lot further away than what humans have already achieved compared with our chimpoid antecedents, who never got far past hanging around in trees and whacking each other with sticks and stones.
