this is symptematic of bigger problems and the dollar is reacting accordingly. we're doomed

Doomed we are indeed.
You know it, I know it, Russ knows it, Darfot knows it, Fillmore knows it, willie most assuredly knows it and even tippet knows it.

The problem is how do we get from here to there?
The FED is NOT going to give up easily. How the F can ANYONE here doubt that simple statement? How will they fight it? LOWER not higher interest rates. Canada fired a shot today. Europe will be next. If the US tanks (and god knows this market is TOTALLY insane) the FIRST thought in the minds of the FED will be to cut. That is my position and I am sticking too it.

As for treasuries, we are gonna default on them I believe. But when? 7 years from now is my guess. Seriously. I am not messing with them until we test the absolute bottom or get close. There just are too many better plays. If the market tanks there is likely to be a "flight to safety". If we head where I think we are headed, gold and silver should be huge winners. BUT, I am on the sidelines now as neither is acting well. There is NOTHING wrong with lots of cash and I hope someone rings a bell on the gold and silver bottom cause I am waiting.

If you have a SL at that last low in yields, I think you will get taken out. That is opinion, I have NOTHING on it and you can take it for what it is worth which may indeed be NOTHING.

Anybody who manages money is aware of the call dates on Treasuries and that the bonds will be called away because it makes sense for the us the tax payers.
