27 Nov 2003 Softbank (0648) sells 2% SBI E2 to SJ Wong instead

(Infocast News) Softbank Investment International (Strategic) (0648) announced that the sale of a 2% stake in SBI E2-Capital Ltd to E2-Capital (Holdings) (0378) has been teminated and that the stake will be sold to Wong Sin Just, the Vice Chairman of Softbank Investment and a substantial shareholder of E2-Capital (Holdings), at the same consideration of $1.405 million. Upon completion of the deal, SBI E2-Capital will be held as to 49%, 49% and 2% by Softbank Investment, E2-Capital (Holdings) and Wong respectively.

SBI E2-Capital is primarily involved in the provision of financial and related services including investment banking, securities and commodities broking and research.

The directors of E2-Capital (Holdings) believed that the proposed acquisition will entail burdensome requirements on compliance with the Listing Rules. It has, therefore, decided to terminate the sale and purchase agreement.
