re: the previous policy was that of the "Containment of Iraq"; this policy directly led to the attacks of 9/11, Iraq was responsible for 911???? "Protecting our oil interests"..... we were "protecting " the Saudi Oil from anyone, including the Saudi's themselves to guarantee our supply. But it's easy to conclude that the invasion of Iraq solved a few other problems and was easily covered up by the terrorism claims. They were militarily a push over, they embarassed Sr. and tried to kill him, GWI was now felt to be a mistake because it was unfinished, and Iraq has the second largest oil reserves in the world while we are rapidly runnning out. Since the Saudi's are in deep favor with the Bushies, the choice of Saddam was easy..... And also, our friends, the Israeli's prefered getting rid of Saddam.
