Thus far, I note that only I.J. can resist an argument.

You think this is an argument?

Can we just please start to tell some lawyer jokes?

Nope - but I can't resist producing one of my supply of New Yorker-wannabe gags that I've written (my secret ambition is to be a New Yorker gag writer).

Nurse, bending over patient in hospital bed, showing him some buttons on the side of his bed: "Now this button calls a nurse, and that one calls a lawyer."

Actually I'm doomed to seeing my gags slowly appear in the real world. Last week another gag of mine got "stolen:"

My (prior but unpublished) version had a "seven sins or less" line, with an unsavory character (mob boss, cleric, hooker - take your pick) waiting in it. The other people also waiting in that line are looking suspiciously at said unsavory character.
