gee....we might not get there first?....big deal.....
take care of what we have INVESTED FIRST...like the space station and the Hubble....
this will go the route of the anti missile waste of money....it isn't working and the people developing it say it won't work!.....
and yet Bush wants to put more of our BILLIONS into MORE NUCLEAR WEAPONS for here on EARTH.....

The Hubble only had a few years left anyhow, if we dont move it back into a higher orbit its life gets shortened about 2 years I believe. I presume Bush's advisors for space have informed him the cost to keep it two or so extra years isnt worth the value we would get from it. Frankly, I think we have diddled around in low earth orbit long enough anyhow. How many times can you go round and round without becoming bored?
Now may not be the right time to talk about Mars exploration but from what I gathered from Bushs past remarks he is merely starting the ball rolling, this is a MANY DECADES PROJECT. jdn

So the alternative to the Mars expedition is Chinese domination of space?

We'd better get moving and ****ed quick!
