Brian,
Sen McCain appeared on CNBC this am & declared the $10B pork in federal budget proves the system has become corrupt. He said absolute worst pork offenders are 4 senators from West VA, Alaska, Hawaii & another. McCain said congress no longer represents best interests of the people instead they fight for lobbyists in order to receive huge re-election campaign contributions.
Paul O'Neill said he heard VP Cheney state that "deficits don't matter anymore." If Pres Bush signs this budget without removing some of the obscene pork, it proves the corruption has indeed reached WH as well. If re-election has become more important than fiscal responsibility to Bush Adm, we might as well give the Democrats a try for next 4 yrs.
