Westi, on the Howard Dean for President thread posted the following about Kerry:

He also said of John Kerry that "it's one thing to be a hero as a junior officer" (as Kerry was in Vietnam), but something else altogether to have proved it "at the top."

My take on this is that don't we have to perform at a lower lavel first, prove that we are capable and then ask the people to give him the higher job of President?
