Cary,

Your concerns about EONC is very valid. I liked it throughout 2003 and bought a large position along the way. It is not an obvious proven growth story. I liked it based on the fact that it survived the Telecom/Internet crash, stopped bleeding, now seeing some revenue growth and small profit. It is relatively undervalued comparing with many tech stocks now. I called it a "growth at reasonable price play" when it was at 2.5 and 3.3. If EONC were showing all signs of a proven growth story, it won't trade at $4. In Feb 2003 ALVR became my largest holding since it was trading at 1.86 with 3.4 in cash and no debt, cash burn rate was 10 cents/Q and improving. It showed signs of improvement, not even have a profitable quarter yet, and it trades at 14.12 in less than a year. My SINA was same story, it was losing money and trading at cash value 1.5 where I bought. When it reached first profitable quarter, it was already at 8, now 47 after two years.

That said my computer model turned bearish on 1/22/2004. I went from 100% long to about market neutral in last two days. I expect a 5% or more correction in QQQ. I have a large short position in QQQ now averaging 38.25.

Regards,

Steve
