Doubt that you will agree, but I can summarize the reasons for invading Iraq as:

1) the Likudnik agenda of the neo-cons
2) the Hulbert oil peak

and all the rest is obfuscating malarkey.

You wish to focus
only on one issue when several critical issues were
addressed in bringing Saddam into compliance & remove him
as a threat.

That issue was the one and only reason that the U.S. couldn't wait to find out what was really going on. It was completely and 100% wrong to attack Iraq rashly. There was time and good will to examine the problems, chart the possible solutions, and plan for the consequences.
