That is very interesting. I had skimmed the story, thinking it was another foray of one party claiming something that's done by the others. You seem to be right in that it is political work done on governmental system. Apparently there was a snafu with a password or a password was left off and someone "stumbled" onto the info.

If a Republican staffer was stupid enough to leave a file with strategies in the hallway and a Democratic staffer picked it up and used it, would that be comparable?

Or shall we impeach Bush because of this?

An excellent point, Counselor.

One to which I would add that all the vice president's dirty secrets regarding energy policy, for starters, should be accessible to the electorate. Or rather, to the "selectorate."

I can't imagine what Karl Rove's database would reveal. Or Tom Delay's. Or Tom Ridge's. Or John Aschroft's.
