But personally, deliberating between the right of free speech and the honor of six million killed Jews, I favor the German model of banning Holocaust denial.

My experience living in France and following the news media there was that attempts to silence idiots like Le Pen usually backfired and gave them free publicity.

However, it is simply not possible to just literally transpose something like "freedom of speech" as it is understood in the US to another, even Western country. There is too much cultural baggage surrounding what is exactly accepted as over the limits or not, and it's not something you can put a scalar numerical measurement on. We in the US didn't live through WWII the way that Germany or other European countries did.
