It was that his language was too flip.

The article was too flip. The reported pulled out what he saw as controversial, and dumped the rest. You don't get "context" in this type of story. We lost the "nuance." :>)

You know what you call 300,000 men with their hands in the air?

The French Army.

THAT'S the opposite of his attitude. Are you really willing to pay several hundred billion a year for a military that gets its tush kicked?

Maybe we should give thanks we have men in this country who will put their lives on the line for it. We have needed them a few times.

Now maybe the attitudes that get men to do that don't please you. They fail to please a significant fraction of this site, it appears. Some, such as Duray, absolutely despise them and consider them hired hit men. (If you doubt that, I've got the evidence to prove it.) But the simple fact is that Adolph didn't even get a grave thanks to them and the Europeans, who often to appear to despise the ignorant, uncouth, brutal Yanquis, are not doing the goose step because of them, nor are they slaves in a People's Paradise.
