scooter,

I was largely for the action in Afghanistan...

daisy cutters? indiscriminate cluster bombs dropped from
airplanes? BALONEY!

you may not realize it, but here's what you REALLY were
largely for...

you were largely for justice through the rule of law.
you wanted those responsible for coordinating the terrorist
hijackings of september 11, 2001 to be apprehended through
the cooperative international efforts of every country
on earth. after extensive investigations and intelligence
sharing, you wanted reasonable suspects to be apprehended
and sufficient evidence presented before a judicial body to
confirm that it was reasonable to charge them with their
crimes and bring them to trial.

then you wanted a fair trial to be held to determine
guilt or innocence and in the case of a guilty verdict,
you wanted sentencing commensurate with the deed but also
commensurate with a civilized view of how enlightened
humanity hands out justice in capital cases.

and most of all, you wanted to be proud of civilization
for being evolved enough to use this kind of system of
justice to deal with crimes against humanity... and you
wanted to be proud of america and americans for leading
the way to a better world by exhibiting maturity and
patience and being the shining global example of how
justice can and should be handled in a way that is
respectful of individual human rights while also being
unilaterally cooperative, diligent, skillful and effective
in enforcing the laws we set for our conduct as human
beings in our shared world.

am i right?

<<No one said anything about a non-response. The world was standing shoulder to shoulder with us, we could have forced a solution. >>

huh? France Germany and Russia were pro-saddam, they were his voice at the UN, as they had big insider deals with him, and were selling him weapons and construction projects, and otherwise doing end-runs around the economic sanctions that they had previously agreed to ..

not exactly "shoudler to shoulder" ! LOL !

Chirac and his political party took lots of $$$$$ from the french oil co's that operated almost totally in Iraq .. (hint, there's no oil in France..)
