Mish,
I am unable to figure out the urgency to lend money to everyone on the planet here. The people Bush wants to cover for financing in no way shape or form should be investing in Real Estate at the inflated prices we have nation wide. The Ameridream type programs that are being proposed are a seller subsidized down payment loan where the borrower gets in with zero down or close to it. These loans carry some of the highest default rates in the industry. This bubble will burst. As the Louisiana Cajun cook says I guarantee it.

how come this doesn't get public press -- I don't hear about it on NPR or BBC -- have you seen stories on this on the network news??

I've heard of compassionate republicans -- but that is completely nuts. Is housing going to be completely centrally planned by the time they get through ...

He must have some buddies in the homebuilding and banking sectors that need more money??

Bush is a communist.
