I read your reference, isnt it funny how the current crop of wannabe's knock him on education when he is outspending the best of them in that area? Personally, I dont have a big problem with education spending IF its spent wisely as I consider it an investment in the future.
But, back to prescription drugs. I was and am probably the most conservative of the conservatives. My uncle was Scottish and he taught me to PAY MYSELF FIRST by depositing 10% of whatever I made first and live on the rest. I did even better then that and subsequently was able to retire at age 47. However, now I take 5 prescription drugs, some of them I believe are because of doctors practicing defensive medicine as I am very much opposed to taking any drug but these doctors wont work with me on finding other methods (I am a big believer in alternative medicine). Luckily for me, I have insurance that pays a large part of the cost of those drugs, but if I didnt it would be very painful indeed. Someone who wasnt a diligent saver like I was surely would be unable to afford them. jdn
