Isn't the "New Republic" a neocon think tank mouthpiece, Scott?

you know, this is interesting.

"Restrictive employment laws in Europe go a long way toward explaining why Europe consistently runs a higher rate of unemployment when contrasted with the U.S. or Britain."

My belief is that the US unemployment rate is over 10%, which puts us over france. The fact that we have a poor UI system that only pays out for 6 mos, 1 year after full employment skews the index. None of my former employees can find jobs and neither can their friends, and of course there is no capex recovery which is a direct result of these trends. My hope is that conservatives keep pushing their POVs like this article, because the unemployment rate is so bad, Bush will be voted out. I'd rather conservatives remain in denial until it is too late. I am certain jobs will continue to erode in the US, and thats what causes incumbents to be voted out.
