National Post.

Yup..it's hard right.
Founded by Conrad Black and his wife the ice queen Barbara Amiel. Both very tight of sphinctre IMO.
Will be interested in Kastels take on it.

Cheers

Yes, alas the National Post is as right wing as they come. A family named Asher owns it. Any employee that doesn't write reactionary stuff would lose their job at once. Fortunately they are losing 20 million a year on it. Unfortunately they can pay for those losses out of their tv station income. Fortunately relatively few people read it in Toronto. (The Star and the Globe and Mail are the favorite papers of the literate.) Unfortunately their anti-Palestinian stance throws poison around. UGH!

Hi Tom, I see that you now know these boards are teeming with Canucks :o)

As to the Post racist I dunno but yep it's right wing alright. I used to read it when it was just the Financial Post and the forum was narrower focusing mainly on finance and business.. When it was transformed into the National Post it became in short order too predictable falling into a rut of dogmatic neoconservatism... To make matters worse they started to develop a more sensationalistic tabloid feel IMO and I completely lost interest..

As a point of reference I'd place myself definitely to the right of Malcolm (well he already knows that :0) sort of a fiscal conservative with a libertarian bent.. hard to pigeon hole though, for example I think public health care is better (lesser of two evils but a close call)

Anyway I say that because Malcolm mentions the Star and the Globe.. I don't read the Star either as it is pretty well the liberal equivalent of the post IMHO and worse they kill a lot more trees (paper is a LOT bigger) to promulgate their views, not terribly green of them LOL.. :o) . The Globe is fairly moderate (many liberals find it typically too conservative while many conservatives find it to liberal .. It's the only one of the three I actually buy and read from time to time..

Don't know where I stand vis a vis Condor politically so I wonder at his interest in my view ;o)

We all seem to be Ontarians now although I'm a native Montréaler an ethnic McFrinese..
