Clark is a Red Herring anyway. Nobody would ever take that clown seriously. He is a bit more lame than is Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiieeeeeeeeeeeaaahhhhhhhhhh!!! Dean.

The only serious candidates were Gephardt, Kerry and Edwards. The most responsible isn't a serious candidate due to liberal anti-Semitism. That would be Joseph Lieberman.

Party, BushAwol.com has a good discussion of what constitutes desertion and the length of time involved. Desertion during an undeclared war is a crime, but the difference is you don't receive the death penalty, as you would under a real war. I never knew any deserters when I was in the service or working for DOD, but I sure knew a lot of long AWOLs. Also, though, we have to remember that Bush wasn't with a real unit. He was in a cushy No Go outfit. And Republicans were not the only ones who found this scam for their kids. My Democratic Congressman "served" right next to Dan Quayle. The problem is not the NG, but the preference to those with money and influence during a time when those without those attributs were getting maimed and killed in a war. That Bush couldn't stand even this wimpy sort of service reflects very poorly on him, though we have to remember it was before he started reading the Bible backwards and had his Road To Damascus.
