Are there any oysters left in Oyster Bay, Long Island?

Well, I have not checked, but my guess is no. Your vegetarian argument looks to be winning hands down. Thing is, I always would fight for a lost cause I thought was right -g-

"There would be no market for these, or other fish, if the world's population were vegetarian!"

True, but then on the other hand life would not be worth living.

if the world's population were vegetarian!

Just thinking. Sorry, I don't think that would work.

For a start this would mean we would all have to rely on arable land for a food source. Secondly, and more importantly, there has to be a strong commercial reason to actually make these improvements. It would take a lot of work and investment to restore inland sea areas that support a large amount of healthy fish. The investments will also probably mean cleaning up pollution too. Money money money.

We could try and eat seaweed of course, but I will stand up for seaweeds rights and declare they should be left to a peaceful existence without slaughter from human beings! I think I could make a convincing argument.-g-
