re: Overall, 52 percent of those polled by NEWSWEEK say they would not like to see Bush serve a second term

The more I look, the more vulnerable Bush appears.

I am not that confident.........Bush has gotten under the skin of Americans......he's their everyman......the quintessential American. Until Bush got elected, I had not realized how divided the country was nor how divergent the opposing views were. There are some people in this country who never went through the ninties with the rest of us.

I think the voting block that will lose it for him are, strangely, traditional (non neo) conservatives. Those folks have the courage of their convictions, and they won't be able to bring themselves to vote for a guy whose fiscal policy is a total disaster.

Oh, I disagree completely. Read the results of that poll again. I think 86% of Republicans support him. Dems. and independents will have their work cut out for them this fall. Nonetheless, I am encouraged that people are getting who he and his administration are.

I also think the O'Neill stuff took a big bite out of the Bush image.

Yes, I agree. He's showed how dangerous and manipulative these people are. And he gave added strength to the notion that Bush is little more than a figurehead. That has got to make people uneasy.

We need a Dem that won't screw up. Unfortunately, I don't think Dean is that Dem. To me it's down to Kerry, Clark, Edwards.

I agree! Kerry looks to be the man......Kerry/Edwards would be ideal. To me, Clark is too much of a novice.

AS was right........Kerry is looking very presidential in a relaxed and confident sort of way. Iowa has transformed him.......or at least, his campaign.
