But she glossed over it quickly, knowing that any attempted explanation of why Kosovo is a US strategic interest but Iraq is not would become ludicrous instantly. May I paraphrase your sentence? "Because the first was promoted by a Democratic President and the latter was promoted by a Republican President." That sums up the objections, doesn't it?
