You keep referring to his dad as if that made something more available. It certainly is meaningless. President George Bush was Director of Central Intelligence and head of
the Central Intelligence Agency from 30 January 1976 to 20 January 1977. One year. It hardly establishes the pool of loyalists you seem to imply. Not to mention 26 or 27 years prior to the invasion.

To me it is irrelevant whether he intentionally deceived, or mistakenly justified the war on the basis of weak intelligence. He should still be held accountable, just like any other CEO would be who made a terrible judgement call. The U.S. credibility was put on the line, and will be a very long time recovering.
