It seems to me that the Mark of the Beast will need to have some spiritual component to it. There is nothing intrinsically different in an electronic money system than a paper money system. A signature is a crude biometric identification system. If in the future you are required to deny Jesus as your Lord and Savior as a prerequisite to having your "id chip" installed then we are talking about the Mark of the Beast. Short of that, what we are discussing is merely a more efficient way of doing business. One that in principle is no different from what we have today.

This would be the beast "making war against the saints and overcoming them". << with all due respect, you are thinking in an entirely geo-political realm. this is how deceitful teachers such as hal lindsey and tim lahaye seek to lead people astray. the answers to the mark of the beast are found within scripture, not within newspaper headlines.
