negative about anything moderately green.

I don't know of anything being proposed I would consider "moderate." The needed water, air, and dirt initiatives needed have all been pretty well passed. The minor-from a world viewpoint-ones like animal effluent are not being fought. We discussed this before. Every issue now is done by them on the basis of defeating the right. We do need better enforcement of Industrial water discharge.

Bush attempted to evade them instead of taking them on head on. I think that is a mistake. I think Crichton's lectures have been enormously effective. I am finding references to them all over the Internet.

Enjoy your "Global Warming" the next two weeks. I understand this cold front coming in is a real doozy. I will enjoy my "Island Warming" here in Waikiki.

This sounds terrible. "NY Times"

The official Antara news agency in Indonesia reported today that millions of poultry in that country had also fallen ill with avian influenza, a further sign that it is spreading. South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Hong Kong have previously confirmed the disease in birds, while Taiwan has reported a less dangerous strain of bird flu in some chickens there.

These Governments are not capable of really cleaning this up until it gets epidemic in people. But at least they are trying, which is more than the Chinese did. I hope this is a mild one. But it sounds like several strains are loose.
