oh yeah, I own 2 homes which have depreciated, but I spent stock market gains from the 90s to buy them in cash for the most part. My ex-husband owns our old house which we bought in the early 90s and he gets the tax gains, which is ok with me because I never liked that house much anyway (coyotes in that area). But that isn't the point. I never argue for my own personal motivations, contrary to most republicans who can't see beyond their own pocketbook. I don't like it when one generation screws the other generation and then lies about it. Something very unseemly in that.
