Gold has no meaning,

ah chingao ?! an absolute !

the only real money, the only currency not based on someone's liability ..... it's a small market yes, the very fact of limited supply makes it useful as money, as it cannot be declared into existence [¡fiat lucre!-g-] and printed at the whim of politicians

well... that's a meaning, a purposeful one

yes, but these days politicians and their lieutenants have learned to manipulate it quite efficiently and so it has somehow lost its main meaning i.e. be the disciplinarian of the politicians. it needs Viagra so its functionality would extend and be long-lasting -gg

what better solution, in stead, that economic means of productions be left to the businessmen and away from the dirty paws of politicians ?

oh but that would be too logical and in the reality world we live in, that theory has long ago been shot down by the politicians on account of the "fact" that all corporations/businessmen are evil, greedy, selfish, and 'exploiters' of the weak and meek....

not that politicians are different --if not worse-- since they use deceit, patriotism, and bombs to get their own way...

uno ve la paja en el ojo ajeno, pero no el ladrillo en el uno propio... -lol

anyway... Libertarianism only exists in Libertaropia...

therefore, i can only consider practical meanings as it is the only way that -gold- or any other asset for that matter can contribute in their own way to save me from starvation, famine and the ill-made decisions of whatever politician i happen to be under the boot of.

This is not so off-topic really - one of the principal real reasons for invasion of Iraq would most certainly have been Hussein's pricing of his oil in euros, this was threatening to the huge advantage gained by the US from the seigneurage effect, use of its currency throughout the world permitting the US Fed to 'issue' an abstract concept at extremely low cost and get real goods and services in exchange ....... as long as this flow is accepted by the Rest of Us, US economic power is increased ... should the direction of flow change, and any significant portion of those promises-to-pay begin to come 'home', there will come fundamental change to the economic world map

Loteria !

the rest of the reasons 'why' the war... are mere weapons of the politicos to distract; of course there is that issue of the pesky terroristas con turban that could really disturb things if all of a sudden they would be smart and bomb the crap out of the local refineries...

i wonder why they have not really taken such step... [maybe because it would hurt their own toes]

follow the money, and wisdom will come your way.

Watch for the islamic dinar ...

i have been frijolito... the scary thing is that Islam is not a country, rather it encompasses several... a [potentially] powerful economic block.

the greater problem i see is that the US has chosen the type of strategy in the style of the Arab -v- Israel bout... not a good omen.

quietly, in the background, China, India and others are learning that trade, not bombs will make you rich and probably powerful.

as usual, it is religion, --if you pardon my indulgment, as it is my favorite demon-- that will take us all to ...er, well hell, since it is the fundamentalist in these two monsters Islam -v- Christians that are at the helm, (or nearly there)... these prophets of doom seem bent on bringing to earth, certain hell that for now lives only in their respective minds... but that can change quickly...

so it is possible that this 'ocupation' may last a few years, more than they ever imagined in the first place.

anyway... that part IS OT.

back to la plata --or gold in this case-- -g

from the second URL:

Taylor reports that the Islamic Dinar is now being privately used in more than 22 countries and is currently being minted in four countries, including South Africa. The State Government of Kelanton, the Northeast Sultanate of Malaysia has officially adopted the Islamic Dinar, so the new gold coin can be expected to circulate "through the hands of hundreds of thousands of people there."

"privately used the evil words against any government...

No wonder Jorgito has now come out of the closet and has proposed his new immigration law where every 'mojado' will have the chance --imagine that-- to REGISTER and PAY taxes, s/s and all the rest of the government share of every single person's sweat equity.

of course hiding behind the 9/11 specter claiming that the "underground economy" must be stopped.

it is a matter of...

Free Trade

or

Free-jolitos

lo dejo don marcos, me voy al cine a despendejarme un poco...

ciao

Wong's Scottish Meat Pies And Taquería

I think I've eaten at Wong's cousin's shop somewhere in Silicon Valley on a trip back from Carmel to the Bay Area last Easter.

Heck of a place, had phao, guacamole, quesadillas, and agua de horchata to wash it all down with. My son insisted on a cheeseburger.

Most 'mericun place I've ever visited. Full of Asians eating Mexican food, and Mexicans eating Asian food.

Ever hear a Mexican who doesn't speak too much English try to communicate with an Asian who doesn't speak too much Spanish?
