The most eco-friendly way to harvest fish is the oldest, with a sharp, pointed stick... It is also the funnest... Everything else pretty much sucks.

Unless you're sitting in some slum in Calcutta, or Beijing, or Rio, and trying to figure out how to make your $3 of daily earnings stretch out into enough food to feed your kids for the day, in which case efficiency becomes kind of important. Fish farming may not be as romantic as "The Old Man and the Sea" but it puts protein on the table at a lower cost than the traditional wild alternative.
