Again - I don't think what you say merely applies to the US. As the biggest, baddest and best - at least as far as perception goes, the US has to take the heat and be under everyone's microscope. The attitude, of which you post, goes for our politicians and from what I can see, applies to politicians in other so-called democracies. In those nations with less than democracy, ones in power do not need the same skills to denigrate and tear down. All a very sad commentary. I'd say there is very little mutual respect anywhere, from individual dealings to the media to international relations.
