enjoyed your post and yes you are right about the patriotic creed" part but all countries do that.

but back on point.....USA is known in the world, Geopolitically as one country, 100% united is never a reality, we are a two party system, but our government speaks with one voice.

Europe is many countries with many different opinions formed from their particular needs and wants and centuries old cultural differences.....Europe has many voices the way I see it...

Considering the diverse segments of the US population and the relative peace and quiet and harmony here, I would say that the US is a model country as far as diversity is concerned. Yes you have folks who wrap themselves around the flag and call the others unpatriotic etc. But certainly, considering the diversity and the racial mix of the US populace, it is a wonder that we do not have the ethnic cleansing as we saw in the Balkans or the African nations of Rwanda etc.

The US is the country that others can take a cue from as far as harmony is concerned.
