In what way was Raymond's post off-topic? It looked on topic to me, and I did not see the thread originator complain. Tom

si bob- i think you're doing a great job... and i must say that i appreciate the hell out of your work in taking over si and keeping it functional. but... i don't think you need to usurp the power of the moderator on a moderated thread. (i realize you had many other posts from raymond on other threads to consider and you may have had good reason to impose a suspension -- but it didn't warrant a public post on this thread... banishment here should be left to the thread moderator... and suspension from si should not be publicized anywhere -- it's a private matter between si and the suspended party.) FWIW, i think many of raymond's posts were over the top in terms of reality, but many of them were extremely astute and he brings a lot of intelligent and thought provoking material to si. bottom line is... we are all capable of discerning the value of posts here, but if we are deprived, via censorship, of reading them... we are... uuuhh... how do i say this?... we are deprived. don't deprive us. let us deprive ourselves by ignoring or skipping them. or simply by reading them and disagreeing. thanks... and don't forget this interesting fact... I THINK YOU ARE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB! IF NOT FOR YOU, NONE OF US WOULD BE CONVERSING HERE! I'M NOT KISSING YER BUTT. I REALLY APPREACIATE YOU AND WHAT YOU'RE DOING FOR ALL OF US. -dusty
