..."I don't think that they exist, but this is my personal opinion based on the indications that were there when I left Iraq....."

....David Kay is also clear on not having proof of WMD tranfers of sensitive material between Syria and Iraq before the war.

He underlined, however, that important movements had been noticed on the border between the two countries:"Awhile back there were satellite photos and observations on the ground which showed a constant fleet of trucks, cars, and trains at the Iraqi- Syrian border, before the American intervention", explained Mr. Kay, "but we don't know what was being transported."

It is important to know what was transported a that moment....but an answer may not be given by Syria, which so no desire to help us."

Last week an opponent of the Syrian regime in exile affirmed that the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction were hidden in Syria before the beginning of the war.

Iraqi arms, chemical and bacteriological, were put, in the first place, in the warehouses of the Republican Guard, at the seat of Dasmascus", declared Nizr Nayyouf, who resides in France, in an public interview Monday by Near East dot info. The operation, he added, was to be accomplished under the supervision of General Zoul- Himla Chalich, head of the private guard of president Bachaer el- Assad.

The arms were transported "in ambulances of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent", affirmed Nizar Nayyouf, as he had already declared on the 9th of January on the British television network Channel 5. The United States has indicated that it has not received from anyone "decisive proof" permitting it to confirm this information.

Hi Neocon; Re: "Of course, the over- all number of attacks is diminishing ..."

This is just BULLSHIT propaganda. Our KIA, the one statistic that it is impossible for the CPA to statistically manipulate, is NOT decreasing, and the Iraqi police are filling graves at an amazing rate. David Kay, an administration appointee, even says that the American officials in Baghdad are in a "panic" over the guerilla war.

Re: "... which is why the UN is considering re- entering the country."

This is BULLSHIT, in that your wording implies that the UN is considering returning to its position in Iraq of last July.

More people are getting killed in Iraq now than were back in the summer when they left. What the UN is considering is whether or not the place is even safe enough to send a few people with the very limited objective of determining when it is possible to have early elections. Maybe you misread this news to imply that the UN was considering whether they could run elections, or coming back in full force, or maybe you left off the very limited restriction because you want to improve your case that the Iraqi resistance is faltering. Here's what the UN is "considering":

Annan Considering Request for Election Assessment
US Embassy to Italy, January 19, 2004
U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said January 19 that he will consider a request from the Iraq Governing Council and the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to send a technical mission to advise on the holding of general elections before June 30.

...
After meeting with a delegation that included U.S. administrator Paul Bremer, U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said he was considering sending a small team to Iraq to assess whether it is possible to hold national balloting.

Annan told reporters after a lengthy meeting with U.S. and Iraqi officials that he was "conscious of the urgency" of the situation and promised a decision soon. But as bombs continued to explode in Baghdad and more than 100,000 people demonstrated in the Iraqi capital Monday demanding direct elections, it was not clear whether even the United Nations could stem Iraqi protests.

Re: "... And the election is in November."

Yes, there is plenty of time for things to get considerably worse. Like I said this past summer, before the end of 2004, we'll pass the 1000 mark for KIA without a damned thing to show for it. Also note that the neocons speculated that with the capture of Saddam, the resistance would end in a few months. We're now into about a month and a half of post Saddam Iraq and we're still having about as many casualties as before.

If you're so f'ing sure that Iraq is pacified, then name me the month by which CPA KIA will be reduced to the level it was back before the resistance began. If you can't name a date, then admit that you don't have a clue when Iraq will be pacified, and that you are just another hopeful loser, lost in prayer mode without any idea how to get out of it.
