I would have to mull over your last points, but they seem to have some substance......... just one more comment about that bad doctor charging more than twice as much as the top specialist. I am sure that the top specialist makes more money because he obviously under more demand and his liability insurance is less. Limiting liability would only marginally help that top specialist so the main beneficiaries of limited liability are bad doctors.... -AK

I've seen a couple of these posts on the health care subject. Here's a happened today anecdotal thing about dentists. I had a filling break in '95, old dentist had just retired so I went to a new one. I needed this and this and this ... Then I supposidly needed all my gums sliced because of gum disease. Nope, not me I told them. We're going to make you sign a paper and sent me to a specialist who wouldn't file an insurance claim unless I pony'd up $5k to have it done. Screw him and his horse. That cost me $108. All my teeth were going to drop out within a year. Dentist kept really putting the pressure on about getting it done. Now 9 years later I go to a new and well respected dentist. Still have the teeth I should have lost 8 years ago and no gum disease. Second opinions are worth it.
